Spiritual Arsonist

In intercessory prayer, Pastor David was praying for people to be on fire for God and to become like “spiritual arsonists” in the community. Elena then began praying for the young adults and I could see a connection between the two. The Lord kept highlighting “spiritual arsonist” and I asked Him what that would look like … I wanted to paint it for Him. During prayer, the Lord showed me aspects of that and I prayed out several scriptures. CJ Balding later preached for the revival fire of God  to come upon Statesboro and the nation which, to me, confirmed what the church had prayed for that Wednesday morning.

I saw there was an anointing as the spiritual arsonists walked throughout Statesboro.

Luke 4:18-21 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.”

And the Word of God was like a fire that burned inside of them.

Jeremiah 20:9 Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.

Jeremiah 23:29 “Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD, “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?

As I painted, I felt the Lord say that the spiritual antidote to the storms was the spiritual arsonist. In the storms of life the spiritual arsonist is like an anointed light of fire walking looking to spread that fire and light to others. This is all fueled by the message of the cross and what Jesus did for us as we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Lord, may we become your spiritual arsonists in Statesboro, Bulloch County, this state, this region... Let it start with us. May this painting bless you, and always point you towards Jesus. May He show you more with it than He showed me. Thank you Lord, for the opportunity to paint it.
