Core Beliefs
God’s Word is absolute truth
We accept the Holy Bible as God’s authoritative Word and guide for life. By the awesome power of the Holy Spirit, God enabled man to write the inerrant, infallible truth of God for mankind. We mostly use the NIV for clarity and ease of reading.
(2 Tim 3:16-17; 2Peter 1:19-21; Rev. 22:19; Rom 10:8-13)
Our God is one God
We believe in one God that eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. This is the Trinity. Each person of the Godhead is fully and eternally God!
(Heb. 1:1-8; Col. 2:9; Acts 5:3-4; Heb. 9:14; Matt. 3:16-17)
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God
We believe that Jesus Christ was born of the Virgin Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit. He is God in the flesh. Through His death and resurrection, He settled our past, present, and future. Now Christ lives forever at the right hand of the Father, representing all believers, as we are and ever will be.
(Jn 3:16; Heb. 2:14; Lk 1:26-31; Heb. 7:22-8:12)
Mankind is sinful and stands in need of salvation
We believe that mankind was CREATED in the image of God. Through transgression and disobedience, man lost fellowship with God. Our only hope of redemption is through the atoning work and shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a free gift of grace to all who believe. Each believer is to manifest the evidence of Salvation in his life by being a disciple of Jesus Christ.
(Gen. 1:26-31; Rom. 5:12-21; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 10:9-10; Heb. 4:12)
Christians should set themselves apart in Christ through water baptism and righteous godly living.
All believers are to be expressly identified with Jesus and His teachings and manifest the fruits of the Holy Spirit in consistent, godly living. This is lived out through our actions, words, attitudes, and principles. We believe that every aspect of our lives as Christians should exhibit our intimate relationship with God, leaving no doubt to others that we love Jesus.
(Acts 22:16; Titus 3:5-6; Rom 6:4-6; 1 Cor. 10:16-17; 11:23-29)
The Holy Spirit is active in the life of the Church
We believe that the Holy Spirit has been sent to the church for this present age. He gives gifts to each member of the body of Christ and is active and miraculous in the world today.
(Acts 2:1-4; 1 Cor. 12-14; John 7:37-39)
We believe in divine healing.
We believe that through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross, a Divine Provision was made for physical, emotional and spiritual healing. Divine health is the expressed Will of God for every believer. As believers, our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit (I Cor. 6:19). Knowing this, we should desire to live in a way that promotes health. In sickness, we do not judge, but we seek God for Divine healing in various ways:
Through prayer and laying on of hands. (Mark 16:18)
Through the prayer of Faith and anointing with oil. (James 5:14-16)
Through the gift of healing bestowed by the Holy Spirit. ( 1 Cor. 12:9)
Through spiritual counsel and guidance. (Gal. 6:1-2)
The local church is God’s Plan of nourishing the believer
We believe that every believer is to be a part of a local body of believers. Being planted in a local “house” causes every believer to receive the nourishment of The Word of God and provides support to new believers as they grow into fully mature, Christ-like people. The church is a living organism. We are God’s people, full of power. We are the voice of God’s grace and power to a lost and dying world.
(Eph. 1:18-23; Rom. 8:30; Acts 15:14-18; 1 Peter 2:9)
